Learn how to organize your work by creating folders and projects in the Meado platform.
This guide will walk you through creating folders to organize your projects and creating new projects within the Meado platform. Folders help you organize your projects by category, client, or any other logical grouping that makes sense for your workflow.
Understanding the Structure
In Meado, you can organize your work using a two-level structure:
Folders: Top-level containers that help organize related projects
Projects: Individual workspaces where you perform your supply chain optimization tasks
Creating a New Folder
To create a new folder:
Navigate to the Projects page from the main navigation
In the left sidebar, click the "New Folder" button (orange button with a "+" icon)
A modal dialog will appear asking for the folder name
Enter a descriptive name for your folder (e.g., "Q1 2024 Analysis", "Client ABC Projects")
Click "Create Folder" to confirm
The new folder will appear in the left sidebar and will be automatically selected

Tip: Use descriptive folder names that clearly indicate the purpose or contents. This will make it easier to find and organize your projects as your workspace grows.
Creating a New Project
You can create projects in two ways:
Option 1: Create a Project in a Specific Folder
First, select the folder where you want to create the project by clicking on it in the left sidebar
Click the "New Project" button in the top-right corner of the main content area
Fill in the project details:
Project Name: A clear, descriptive name for your project
Description: Optional detailed description of what this project will accomplish
Click "Create Project" to confirm
The project will be created and automatically linked to the selected folder
Option 2: Create a Project Without a Folder
Make sure no folder is selected (click on "All Projects" in the left sidebar)
Click the "New Project" button in the top-right corner
Fill in the project details as described above
Click "Create Project" to confirm
The project will be created and will appear in your "All Projects" view

Project Details
When creating a project, you'll need to provide:
Project Name (Required): A unique identifier for your project. Choose a name that clearly describes the project's purpose.
Description (Optional): Additional details about the project goals, scope, or any other relevant information.
Managing Your Projects
Once created, you can:
View Projects: Click on any project card to open it and access its dashboard
Filter Projects: Use the search bar to find projects by name or description
Filter by Sharing: Use the dropdown to show all projects, only shared projects, or only non-shared projects
Filter by Date: Use the date range filters to find projects created within specific time periods
Navigate Pages: Use pagination controls to browse through large numbers of projects

Best Practices
Use Consistent Naming: Establish a naming convention for both folders and projects to maintain organization
Create Logical Groupings: Group related projects in folders (e.g., by client, by quarter, by project type)
Write Clear Descriptions: Include detailed descriptions to help team members understand project goals
Regular Cleanup: Periodically review and organize your folders and projects to maintain efficiency
Success: Once you've created your first project, you can start uploading datasets, configuring optimization parameters, and running analyses. The project dashboard will guide you through the next steps.
Troubleshooting
Common Issues:
If you can't see the "New Folder" or "New Project" buttons, ensure you have the appropriate permissions
Project names must be unique within your account
If a folder appears empty after creation, make sure you've selected it in the sidebar
