This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through this website. We don't sell personal information and we don't use it for advertising.

This website is operated by Meado Tech (Pty) Ltd ("meado", "we"), a company registered in South Africa. We are the responsible party for the information described here under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

This policy covers this website only. Our products and services are provided under separate written agreements with our clients, and those agreements set out how information is handled in that context.

2. What we collect

Information you give us

When you contact us or apply for a role, we collect what you choose to send, such as your name, contact details, company and message, or your CV.

Analytics cookies

With your consent, we use analytics cookies to understand how the site is used, for example which pages are visited and roughly where visitors are. Nothing is recorded until you accept in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time from "Cookie Settings" in the footer.

Technical information

Like most websites, the services that deliver this site receive standard technical information, such as your IP address and browser type, when you load a page.

3. How we use it

to reply to your enquiry or consider your application;
to understand how the site is used and improve it, where you have consented;
to keep the site secure and working;
where the law requires it.

We share personal information only with service providers that help us run this website, under terms that require them to protect it and use it only on our behalf. Some of them may process information outside South Africa, and where they do, we rely on them being bound by protections comparable to POPIA. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

5. Retention and security

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, or as long as the law requires, and then delete it. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect it. If a breach puts your information at risk, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.

6. Your rights

Under POPIA, and the GDPR where it applies, you can ask us to:

confirm whether we hold information about you, and give you a copy;
correct or delete it;
stop using it, or stop contacting you;
withdraw consent you gave earlier, such as for analytics.

You can also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za. This website isn't aimed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
